Fire & Emergency Service Employment Opportunity

Municipalities of Chapple, Emo and LaVallee are now accepting applications for a Joint Fire Chief Position.

What can I expect in this role?
As Fire Chief, you will assume a strategic and operational leadership role in a well-respected and forward-thinking fire and emergency service setting. You will be responsible and accountable for developing and leading the organizations’ fire and emergency service division, short and long-term vision, while overseeing the continued safety and preparedness of the community. You will be leading an engaged and learning-focused team, and will be accountable for the delivery of emergency planning, fire suppression and protection, public education and prevention, first response and safety services. You will align with the priorities and strategic vision of the three Councils, and will advocate diversity and inclusion, while proactively fostering new and existing partnerships and opportunities. You will continually strive to improve the quality of services offered and work to develop strategies to address current and emerging fire service and fire safety issues.

You must be an effective, influential and proven leader with a results-oriented commitment to great customer service. You apply strategic and critical thinking, project management and change management skills to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of corporate and departmental initiatives.
Your strengths include strong communication and conflict management skills. You believe in life-long learning and strive to seek the best from team members through staff development, motivation, training and education. With stakeholders, you work closely to implement cost-effective, innovative solutions that will improve internal and external customer satisfaction and quality of service.
