Due to COVID-19 restrictions, as of January 5, 2022 the Emo-LaVallee Community Centre is shut down, the EarlyON Centre is offering virtual programming only, and the Public Works Garage and the Township office are closed to the general public.


One can drop off payments through the mail slot in the main entrance door. Office staff can communicate virtually through the main email address township@emo.ca or phone 482-2378.

The Township of Emo is now accepting tax and utility payments

via internet banking from the following banking institutions:

The Township of Emo is looking for volunteers on the following committees:

Planning Advisory Committee

Cemetery/Parks Committee

Emo Rec Committee

If you are interested in becoming a member, please submit application to the Emo Municipal Office.

-Quick access to current risk level
-Instant notification of a fire ban
-Printable PDF permits
-All Permits are valid for the entire calendar year with the exception of Agricultural Burn Plan permits which are valid for three years from the start of the applicable calendar year!
-Only thing ongoing for the resident to do is to call in to the automated number to notify of an active burn! -This allows our volunteer firefighters to quickly assess location, respond appropriately and cancel on false alarms as applicable, keeping our equipment in service for true emergencies.
-Pay by credit card, visa debit, or paypal.
-Simple renewal process on your account if nothing has changed for the following year.

Note: You can still register and/or pay at the municipal office in cash.

Fire Permits are required year round as per By-law No. 2019-13

 The Ontario Energy Board has launched and begun accepting applications for the Ontario Electricity Support Program.
